“And having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.”

Romans 3:18

We are not set free from sin to do whatever we want (:1-2).  We are set free from sin to totally commit ourselves to God.  And why would we want to do that?  “But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.” (:22).  If we remain enslaved to sin we die, but if we enslave ourselves to God we live (:23).  The pleasures of sin are passing (Hebrews 11:25), but the death it brings is eternal.  So is the life God offers.  Become His slave, and experience the true freedom that only comes in Him.
