“Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall.”

1 Corinthians 10:12

The Israelites enjoyed every possible spiritual blessing (:1-4), yet this did not keep them from being displeasing to God and destroyed by Him (:5-10).  Why tell us this, Paul?  So that we may learn from them.  “Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.” (:11).  If they could fall with all the spiritual blessings they enjoyed, then so can we fall today.  Don’t think for a moment that it cannot happen to you.  Take heed!
